BCI Advanced Business Continuity Management Certification

About the Exam

The exam consists of 45 questions in a range of formats:

• One correct answer from a choice of four options
• Reasoning questions requiring the assessment of the content of two or three statements and determining which of the statements are correct by selecting one of the four options provided
• Multiple response where 5-6 options are provided and the correct option(s) have to be identified
• Drag and drop questions where options have to be sorted into categories by dragging options to the correct box
• Completing sentences by identifying the correct item from the list

The exam is currently run exclusively online, and is administered by a proctor (examiner) via webcam by the BCI’s exam delivery partners, TesTrac and Examity. Proctors are located around the world enabling you to take the exam at a time that suits you.

The minimum IT requirements to take the online exam are as follows:

• A desktop computer or laptop in good working order with 1 GB of RAM or higher. Tablets, Chromebooks, and mobile phones cannot be used.
• A working built-in or external webcam (minimum 640×480 video resolution) and microphone.
• Working speakers connected to the computer.
• Internet speed of at least 2 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload. Hotspots are not recommended.
• A supported browser (IE/Edge, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari) with pop-up blockers disabled.
• The examination requires connecting to a site outside your network security settings. If taking the exam at work, ask your IT department to open ports 80, 443, and 1935.

• Unit 1 - Developing and enabling a business continuity environment. This unit aligns with PP1 and PP2 from the BCI GPG.
• Unit 2 - Assessing and analysing organizational requirements for business continuity. This unit aligns with PP3 from the BCI GPG.
• Unit 3 - Developing and enabling solutions. This unit aligns with PP4 and PP5 from the BCI GPG.
• Unit 4 - Validating and assessing business continuity arrangements. This unit aligns with PP6 from the BCI GPG.
