The Business Continuity Summer School
Format
On arrival, you will be allocated to a team. Each team, will take on the role of a fictitious organisation, all within the same town or neighbourhood.
With other members of your 'organisation', you will work together to devise and scope a BCM programme, develop and document BIAs, formulate strategies and plans, tackling the whole BCM lifecycle. A neighbourhood-wide scenario will then unfold, testing your strategy and plans to the limit.
The skills will largely be acquired by doing, but for those who are new to Business Continuity, there will be optional, one-hour courses on Risk, BIA, Writing Plans, Incident Management, Personnel Issues and Media Handling - extracts from BCI-Approved courses - taking place in parallel with the group work, from which you can plug in and plug out.
In addition, there will be plenaries and briefings on topical issues for everyone. You will be brought up-to-date with matters surrounding BS 25999, pandemic planning and much more.
On the final night there will be a Gala dinner where the learning will continue informally, along with light entertainment, food and wine.
Check back soon for a full schedule.
